The Apple iPhone 14 series is likely to be available by the end of the year. As the launch date approaches, nuggets of information regarding the devices continue to circulate online. According to a new report, the next-generation iPhones will have enhanced selfie cameras with autofocus and even wider apertures.
The most recent claim comes from well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who reported that all four versions (iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max) will have an upgraded front-camera sensor with an f/1.9 aperture with autofocus.
The current-generation Apple iPhone 13 features a camera sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and fixed focus.
The larger aperture lets in more light while also blurring the background, making it ideal for evening selfies.
Portrait Mode images and videos will benefit from better depth-of-field effects as a result of the enhancements. During video conversations using FaceTime or any other third-party application, the autofocus will improve focus.
According to Kuo and others, Apple will ditch the in-display notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and replace it with a punch-hole display instead.
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will also include a new rear camera unit with a 48MP primary wide lens and 8K video recording capabilities. According to previous speculations, this will result in a thicker camera hump.
According to other sources, the A15 Bionic chipset will be used in the normal iPhone 14 models, while the A16-series processor would be used in the Pro variant.
