On Monday, April 25, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Miftah Ismail met with prominent global bond investors in London, alongside Governor State Bank Dr. Reza Baqir and Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom H.E. Moazzam Ahmad.
JP Morgan had a meeting with investors at its European headquarters in London. The gathering drew more than 30 global debt market investors from North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, including asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, and hedge funds.
Investors were briefed on the Finance Minister’s discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) last week in Washington, DC, as well as attempts to conclude the 7th review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
Miftah Ismail, the Finance Minister, emphasized the importance of smart and responsible fiscal policies while also assisting the poor and those most affected by growing global inflation.
As a show of Pakistan’s commitment to change, the Finance Minister assured investors that the government intends to prolong the program’s term until June 2023.
The investors expressed a strong desire to invest in Pakistan. They praised the government of Pakistan for taking initiatives to guarantee fiscal stability.
Miftah Ismail, the Finance Minister, commended JP Morgan’s management for holding a successful investment conference in London, the capital of the European Financial Market.
