According to a news channel, an Indian passenger complained of having low blood sugar, prompting the jet to make an emergency landing at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
Indian Plane Did Emergency Landing at Karachi Airport
Aviation sources claim that on Tuesday, SpiceJet’s aircraft SG 15, a private airline, was departing Ahmadabad and traveling to Dubai.
According to the sources, Dhruv Dharimesh Kumar, a 27-year-old Indian national, went into unconsciousness 45 minutes after the aircraft took off from Ahmedabad at 8:38 p.m. because of dangerously low blood sugar levels.
While the aircraft was over the Arabian Sea at that moment, close to Karachi, at a height of roughly 26,000 feet.
CAA Gave Permission on Humanitarian Grounds
After getting in touch with Air Traffic Control in Karachi, the pilot was given authorization to land the aircraft for humanitarian reasons.
However, at 9:20 p.m., the Boeing 737 touched down at the airport, and a Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) medical team stationed close to the runway.
The traveler received urgent medical attention and medicines from CAA doctors.
The airline officials and the passengers expressed gratitude to the Civil Aviation Medical personnel once the passenger’s condition stabilized.
However, at 11 p.m., flight SG 15 took off from Karachi for Dubai after the aircraft was refueled.
October 14 Incident
A medical issue on a flight headed for India resulted in the aircraft landing in Karachi on October 14.
At 12:19 p.m., low-cost carrier Air India Express Flight IX-192 touched down at Jinnah International Airport after traveling from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Amritsar, India.
The passenger on the Boeing 737 reported having a medical emergency when the aircraft was getting close to Koh-i-Pandar in Balochistan.
After contacting air traffic control, the pilot obtained permission to make a humanitarian landing in Karachi.
When the jet touched down, the CAA medics took care of the patient.
At 2:25 p.m., the plane departed Karachi after the passenger was given the all-clear to fly.
