According to data shared by the city health department of Delhi on Tuesday, there were 393 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths, with a positivity rate of 3.35 percent.
The national capital’s COVID-19 caseload increased to 19,01,128 as a result, and the death toll rose to 26,198. According to the department’s most recent bulletin, 11,731 tests were conducted the day before.
Over the last two days, the number of daily cases has decreased. This could be due in part to the fact that fewer tests were performed because the last two days were holidays. On May 15, it was a Sunday, and on May 16, it was Buddh Purnima, a gazetted holiday.
On Monday, Delhi reported 377 COVID-19 cases, with a 3.37 percent positivity rate and one death.
On Sunday, 613 cases were reported, with a 2.74 percent positivity rate and three deaths.
On Saturday, the city recorded 673 cases and four deaths, the most in a single day in over two months.
During the third wave of the pandemic, the number of daily COVID-19 cases in Delhi reached a record high of 28,867 on January 13 this year.
On January 14, the city had a positivity rate of 30.6 percent, the highest during the pandemic’s third wave, which was largely driven by the highly transmissible Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
In Delhi, there are currently 2,910 active COVID-19 cases. According to the bulletin, up to 2,400 patients are in home isolation. The city has 1,414 containment zones, according to the report.
There are 9,581 beds for COVID-19 patients in Delhi hospitals, with 117 (1.41%) of them occupied, according to the report.
