Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, projected that the company would debut a new AR headset in 2022 on the same day that he predicted that the iPhone would last another ten years before being supplanted by AR.
For a long time, analysts have predicted the iPhone’s doom, and they’re not alone. Apple has been modifying its strategy for a few years now, incorporating “services” into its “hardware” and “software” offerings.
Despite the fact that Apple is the most valuable corporation on the planet, CEO Tim Cook recognizes that a company cannot be built on a single product, yet the iPhone still accounts for half of the company’s revenues. With this in mind, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the success of augmented reality and Apple’s AR headset is inexorably linked to the company’s future.
