The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned PTI Chairman Imran Khan to appear before the FIA teams on Thursday (3rd November) in Rawalpindi and on Monday (7th November), sources said.
Meanwhile, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi didn’t show up at the FIA Headquarters on 1st November in connection with the cipher audio probe, sources of FIA said.
On his third notice, former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s principal secretary did not appear in the same case. The people involved in the investigation of the cypher audio case will now decide on the next legal step.
It also called his party’s representative, former federal minister Asad Umar, on Wednesday (today), in connection with the same case.
Shah Mehmood was supposed to appear before the agency on Tuesday, but he did not show up at the headquarters neither he explains why he was unable to approach its team before the office closed.
Qureshi and his party chief have been summoned to appear before FIA interrogators on November 3 in connection with the audio recordings investigation.
The FIA director general formed a team led by the agency’s Islamabad Zone Director Rana Abdul Jabbar to investigate the audio leaks controversy on the orders of the interior ministry.
The inquiry body also included the FIA’s Cyber Crime Islamabad additional director, the Counter Terrorism Wing deputy director, an assistant director investigation officer, and officer members chosen by the committee head.
