Google is constantly updating its video conferencing tool, Google Meet as companies and schools in the post-pandemic period are embracing remote employment and education as the norm.. The Polls section is one example.
Polls may be a great icebreaker, especially if they are used at the beginning of a meeting to get everyone involved and thinking about the topic at hand. Join the call a few minutes early if you’re hosting and giving a presentation, and create poll questions to solicit feedback and keep attendees interested in what you have to say. The host can create a poll with several questions that are only visible to them and then activate it at an appropriate time during the conversation. The meeting organisers are provided with a report detailing the final tally for simple reference and follow-up.
Moderators, please read:
If you’re in charge of a Google Meet meeting, you can put up polls for attendees to vote on. After the meeting is over, the moderator will receive an email with a complete breakdown of the poll results. The report identifies the individuals who participated and contains their responses. However, in order to protect the anonymity of respondents in anonymous surveys, their identities are withheld from the final report.
A Google Meets poll can be run as follows:
- First, during a meeting, head to the meeting’s bottom right and select Activities > Polls.
- To conduct a poll, proceed.
- Third, create a poll question and choices (pro-tip: users can respond to polls anonymously). Make sure Responses appear without names is selected before you create or publish your poll.
- Pick One
Launch your poll to publish it.
You can store your poll for future use by clicking the store button.
Advice: Polls you save will be accessible from the Polls menu for the rest of the meeting. All polls will be removed immediately after the call finishes. After a meeting is over, a polling report is emailed to the meeting moderators. To cast a ballot in a poll you created, simply click Vote when the poll has been made available.
