The Saudi Arabian government has disclosed the procedure for obtaining a Hajj permit if a pilgrim is traveling to the holy land without a Mehram (male guardian).
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that Saudi nationals who desire to perform Hajj without a Mehram should contact the department of civil affairs administered by the ministry of the interior.
The ministry has informed applicants that they can navigate to the website’s register online section and enter their credentials to obtain the permit.
To conduct the pilgrimage, non-Saudi nationals can contact the passport department (Jawazat); the ministry of Hajj and Umrah has announced that the permits will be issued starting on May 5, and only those who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 will be issued permits.
Hajj pilgrims are advised to get vaccination
The final date for pilgrims to receive vaccinations is ten days prior to the religious event season. It should be noted that the Ministry has set the 10th of Shawwal as the deadline for domestic pilgrims to pay the third and final deposit.
It is noteworthy that this is the first time Saudi Arabia will welcome a significant number of pilgrims, approximately 2.3 million, since the pandemic restrictions have been lifted. Only those between the ages of 18 and 65 who were entirely vaccinated or immunized against the virus and did not suffer from chronic diseases were permitted to enter the kingdom during the 2022 season.
