Ishaq Dar Claim On International Petrol Prices
He claimed in a video speech that neither the price of petroleum products internationally nor the value of the rupee relative to the dollar had changed significantly in the previous 15 days.
“But the government tried to create as much room as possible to provide relief to the people,” the finance minister said.
The price reductions follow another round of price decreases for petrol, HSD and LDO on 15 May of Rs. 12 and Rs. 30 respectively.
Dar had asked transporters and other departments that use diesel to pass along relief to the people in the form of cheaper fares together with the announcement of these price reductions so that every sector of the economy may profit from the change.
