Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a relief package worth Rs—50 billion for electricity customers using up to 200 units monthly. He announced this at a ceremony in Islamabad. The government ceremony was about energy sector reforms. He said this package would help 25 million people, which is 94 percent of all home electricity users. The help will last for three months, covering July, August, and September.
He explained the details of the package. Users will receive a relief of Rs. 4 to 7 per unit, reducing their electricity costs. K-Electric users will also receive this help.
The Prime Minister explained why they made this decision. Electricity prices have gone up. This package aims to help the commoner. The summer months are very hot, so people use more electricity during this time. The weather gets cooler in October, so people use less electricity.

PM Shehbaz spoke again in Islamabad. He said the relief is up to Rs. 7 per unit. This will help 25 million people. These are people in the protected category. This help lasts until September.

He said the government found this money in its development budget. They want to help people, unlike past governments.
Shehbaz promised more help in the future. The government is taxing the rich more. They are also closing failing businesses. They want to stop losing money.
He spoke to ministers and officials. He said the government saved the country from default during its 16 months in power. They risked their politics to save the country.
PM Shehbaz talked about the IMF deal. It is a three-year program. The IMF knows about the relief package.
