On Tuesday, the price of gold in Pakistan increased by more than Rs. 6,000 per tola, reaching over Rs. 220,000. The All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA) reported that the price of the precious metal rose by Rs. 6,200 per tola to Rs. 221,000 and by Rs. 5,316 per 10 kilos to close at Rs. 189,472.
It’s worth noting that on July 12 the price of gold dropped to Rs. 204,000 a tola. But now, a week later, it’s up Rs. 17,000 per tola. The precious metal prices have risen by Rs. 5,000 per tola during the past week. An increase of Rs. 1,600 per tola was implemented on the first day of this week.
The price of gold is fluctuating
Even after the latest increase, the price of is still significantly lower than the all-time high of Rs. 240,000 per tola set back in May. Gold gained to $1,961.67 per ounce on the international market by 08:46 GMT, up 0.4%, while the precious metal futures in the United States increased by 0.5%, to $1,965.40 per ounce.
