Google has introduced Android 12L with the intention of improving its apps like gmail for larger devices like foldable phones and tablets. Google has made great gains in recent years toward bettering app designs for these devices, and it is now taking even more measures to enhance the user experience.
The Android version of Gmail has experienced some significant updates recently. Users have noticed a redesign made with foldable smartphones in mind.
Foldable Navigation Rail Two-Pane Gmail App
The navigation rail, which was previously situated at the bottom of the screen, has been moved to the left side in order to better utilize the expanded viewing area. As a result of this change, users will be able to see more emails and email content.
Compose, Chat, Email, and Meet are just few of the buttons that can be seen along the navigation bar. These tabs make it easy to navigate between the app’s many sections. Although the new look debuted a couple of months ago for test users, it is just now being made available to the general public.
Interestingly, the revamped Gmail software is only available on foldable phones right now, and not on tablets. Nonetheless, it is hoped that the style would soon be applied to tablets as well. Google’s intention with these changes is to make using its apps on larger screen devices more convenient and pleasurable.
