According to the most recent numbers from the Dubai Statistics Centre, Dubai’s population has officially topped 3.6 million.
At the end of the first quarter of this year, there were 3,600,175 people living in the Dubai, a rise of 1% from the end of the fourth quarter of last year and an increase of 1.5%, or more than 50,000 people, from the end of 2022.
Dubai’s allure stems from the city’s strong economy, well-established judicial system, and cutting-edge infrastructure, all of which have contributed to its rapid expansion. New inhabitants pour into the city by the tens of thousands every year, many of them drawn by the promise of employment or financial prospects.
Dubai’s population is constantly increasing
Dubai’s population has increased by 6.3%, or about 215,000 individuals, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020. According to projections included in the city’s urban plan, the city’s population might grow from the current 4.729 million at the end of 2022 to 5.8 million by 2040, with a peak of 7.8 million during rush hour.

About 69% of Dubai’s 2.438 million residents are men, while 31% are women, totaling more than 1.111 million people. The native Emirati population makes up only 8% of the total, while foreigners make up the remaining 92%.
Eighty-one percent of the population is engaged in economic activity. This number reflects roughly 2,864,000,000 people, 73% of whom are men. Sixty percent of the working-age population is comprised of individuals aged 29 to 39. In addition, Dubai’s population increases to 4.729 million during peak hours (6.30am-8.30pm), which includes permanent residents, workers, and tourists.
Most of the population is under the age of 35, with the 30–34 age bracket accounting for the biggest share at 636,000. The population of those aged 75 and up is 11,559 at present, with men and women making up almost equal proportions. There are 9,216 people in the age range of 70 to 74, and just over 20,000 people in the 65 to 69 age range.
