The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is expected to have a brand-new trophy, which would be displayed on February 9 in Lahore.
The PSL 8 trophy will be unveiled at Shalimar Garden in Lahore by interim PCB chairman Najam Sethi, with all six franchise captains anticipated to be there.
A PCB official gave information on the occurrences to a specialized media site.
PSL 8 Trophy Announcement
“Yes, the newly designed trophy will be presented to the winners of the eighth edition. The one that was used and presented to winners of the last seven editions will no longer be there” the spokesperson said.
According to reports, the revamp was required not only for aesthetic reasons but also to more prominently represent Pakistan’s cricketing past and history, which PCB believes the current trophy lacks.
The PSL season 8 journey was delayed and more subdued than usual, but things are already beginning to come together.
The slow buildup was expected given the changes to the PCB structure.
Pakistan’s biggest franchise event is slated to begin on February 13th, and the draught procedure has been completed, the squads have been assembled, and the tournament schedule has already been released.
The inaugural round will feature the Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, last year’s finalists.
