The National Technology Fund, or IGNITE, is a division of the Ministry of IT & Telecom, and the Federal Government has begun the process of selecting its next CEO.
Govt. To Appoint New CEO of IGNITE
The choice made because Asim Shahryar Hussain, the company’s current CEO, plans to leave in the middle of January of next year after serving for three years.
Applications for the coveted MP-1 Scale position are now being accepted by the government; the chosen applicant will hold the position for three years.
A minimum of ten years of proven experience, with at least five of those years spent in a leadership capacity in the ICT industry or a funding organization, are requirements for prospective candidates.
Moreover, the candidate will have experience in fund management, startup ecosystem development, and research and innovation management.
Additionally, candidates should not be older than 56 at the time of the posting.
Procedure To Follow
After the application time, candidates will carefully examine by a special committee according to predetermined standards, which will include the professional and academic backgrounds listed in the advertisement.
After interviewing the shortlisted applicants, the IGNITE Board will submit a panel of three to five names for the ultimate selection to the federal government.
The Ministry of IT and Telecom will request an Intelligence Bureau (IB) clearance report on the shortlisted candidates in order to guarantee openness and honesty in the selection process.
However, the federal government will proceed with the nomination of the new CEO for IGNITE upon receipt of the clearance report.
