Grant Wahl, a well-known American sports writer, passed away unexpectedly, and Gulf News stated that another journalist also perished while covering the FIFA World Cup 2022 now taking place in Doha, Qatar.
According to sources, Khalid al-Misslam, a photographer from Qatar who worked for Al Kass TV, passed away while documenting the incident. However, the authorities have not yet disclosed the precise reason of his demise.
Khalid passed away unexpectedly while covering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Gulf News stated on Twitter. We firmly believe that Allah will show him kindness and forgiveness, and we offer his family our sincere condolences.
Grant Wahl, who is credited for helping to popularise football in the United States, reportedly fell last Friday while covering Argentina’s match versus the Netherlands in the quarterfinals.
It is important to note that the 48-year-old reporter gained notoriety when, on November 21, security personnel detained him in Qatar when he showed up to the US-Wales match wearing a rainbow-colored jersey.
Wahl had previously wrote, “My body eventually gave up on me. That’s what you get for three weeks of little sleep, a lot of stress, and a lot of effort. I noticed a new degree of pressure and soreness in my upper chest.
