Musk announced last week that the company will charge $8 per month for its Blue service, which includes the coveted blue check mark, after purchasing Twitter for $44 billion.
Erdogan said in an interview with Turkish broadcaster ATV on Wednesday that he may speak with Musk about the charge.
When asked about the new charge for the blue check, Erdogan said, “It might be different for us.” “We could also conduct some diplomacy with him,” he joked.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan suggested negotiating with Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, to avoid paying the $8 monthly fee for the “verified” badge.

A blue check mark next to a person’s user name on Twitter indicates that Twitter has verified that the account belongs to the person or company claiming it. Twitter is currently free for the majority of users.
In a recent poll, more than 80% of Twitter users said they would not pay for the checkmark. Ten percent said they were willing to pay $5 per month.
Musk stated on Tuesday that subscribers who have blue check marks will have priority in replies, mentions, and search, as well as the ability to post longer videos and audio. They would see half as many advertisements. He also offered paywall bypasses from “publishers willing to work with us” to subscribers.
