The Dubai Grassroots Football Festival – U 8 featured almost 600 young, talented footballers from four different clubs in the country.
The Festival was put on by the Dubai Clubs’ Football Companies in conjunction with the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) as part of a series of events designed to entice young athletes to the country and improve the quality of their technical skills at the youth and recreational levels by drawing inspiration from the best practices throughout the world.
The Dubai grassroot fest was held at four locations
Sports, entertainment, and cultural events were spread out over four locations for the Dubai Grassroots Football Festival—U8: Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli, and Hatta. There were a total of 16 football games played between the four groups of competing teams. Between games, the Festival’s organizers planned a number of fun diversions, including ball shooting, footvolley, sprinting, and tug of war, as well as awareness lectures and cultural competitions.
As a means of strengthening links between clubs and inspiring them to host events that are both fun for kids and meaningful for their families while also maximizing technical, social, and organizational benefits, DSC is eager to rotate the festival’s stages.
