Dada Group, the operator of the on-demand delivery service platform Dada Now, has now launched a car delivery service to further assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
About 60 cities across the country, including Beijing, Harbin, Fuzhou, Changsha, Hefei, and Shanghai, have inaugurated the vehicle transportation service as of this writing.
Almost 38 million kilometers have been driven while transporting over 3.3 million orders.
Dada Now has introduced automobiles to the Chinese market in order to better meet the need of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and individual users in a variety of situations, when before transporting services had primarily employed two-wheeled electric vehicles to complete orders.
In this aspect, cars have distinct benefits over two-wheeled electric vehicles, as they can carry more weight and deliver more delicate goods over longer distances.
Hundreds of thousands of small and medium-sized businesses and individuals have signed up for the service.
For long-distance orders within a city, autos also have a 20-minute dispatch time advantage over electric vehicles.
In order to provide high-quality, cost-effective delivery services, Dada Now launched in July 2021 and has since built up a full dispatching capability, including electric trucks, autos, and autonomous delivery.
A Brief History of Dada Group and Delivery Services
Dada Group is China’s most popular platform for on-demand retail and delivery services.
It runs major local on-demand transportation platform Dada Now, which is used by merchants and individual senders across a wide range of industries and product types, and JDDJ, one of China’s largest local on-demand retail platforms for retailers and brand owners. Both of the Company’s platforms feed into each other and benefit the whole.
Dada Now’s easily accessible fulfillment solutions and robust on-demand carrying infrastructure improves the delivery experience for JDDJ participants.
As this is happening, the Dada Now platform is seeing an uptick in order volume and density because of the JDDJ platform’s abundance of on-demand dispatching orders.
Using the symbol “DADA,” Dada Group started trading on the Nasdaq Global Market in June 2020.
