The three offices of the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) sealed on Thursday by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), purportedly as a result of nonpayment of CDA taxes.

In a unique move, sector G-7, G-6, and F-8’s three IESCO buildings were sealed on Thursday by Senior Special Magistrate Sardar Mohammad Asif of the CDA.
However, according to CDA officials, the electric company has arrears on a number of taxes.
When reached, Raja Asim, the electric company representative, stated that the company had just sent letters to CDA regarding unpaid invoices.

He, confirmed that on Thursday, CDA sealed their three offices.
“Now, teams concerned of both sides will sit together to discuss the issue of our outstanding amount and CDA’s plea of taxes, we are hopeful our offices will be de-sealed soon,” he said and added that high-ups of IESCO and CDA are in touch to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
