The program for the ICC Awards 2022, which will recognize the finest cricketers who distinguished themselves worldwide throughout the calendar year, was released today by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Exciting action occurred during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand, while incredible drama occurred during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia. The international game included a number of important events and performances during the year.
The ICC Awards 2022 include 13 categories, including the prized Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. Players who excelled in certain categories as well as throughout other formats are recognised by these honours.
The shortlists for nine of the 13 categories will be made public by means authorised by the ICC between December 28 and December 30. Each shortlist will contain four names.
On December 28, the shortlists for the ICC Emerging Men’s and Women’s Cricketers of the Year will be announced.
On December 29, the nominees for the Men’s and Women’s ODI and T20I Cricketers of the Year will be announced.
On December 30, the final shortlists for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, and the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year will be revealed.
