The BYD Atto 3 electric crossover passed the demanding Euro NCAP crash test and received a perfect score of 5 stars for safety. The test vehicle has level 2 ADAS features such as automated emergency braking, speed assistance, and lane assist system in addition to 7 airbags, a seatbelt reminder, ISOFIX hooks, and other safety features.
The Atto 3 received a score of 91% for protecting adult occupants, scoring 34.7 out of a possible 38 points. The driver and front passenger’s knees and femurs received adequate protection from the passenger compartment during the frontal offset test, which was done. Regarding the side barrier test, it was determined that all vital body parts were adequately protected.
The electric SUV scored 44 out of a possible 49 marks for kid occupant protection. The Atto 3 received the highest possible score when tested for frontal offset and side barrier impact, providing adequate protection for both kid dummies. However, the BYD Atto 3 received 37.5 points, or 69%, for protecting vulnerable road users.
