A team of students from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering Sciences and Technology took first place in the Formula Student student automobile engineering competition held in Britain, marking a promising trajectory.
In the competition’s category for virtual software, the team took first place. This is a significant accomplishment because the team overcame teams from prestigious institutes from 34 other nations to win a tournament.
Ashir Junaid, the leader of the Formula GIK team, informed the media that his team, which consisted of just 24 people, finished developing the software in less than two months. The world has become aware of Pakistan because of us, added Junaid.
Kamran Bangash, the minister of higher education for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, praised the team of creative youths for their success and said that KP is happy to have the Formula GIK team representing Pakistan and forging its good identity on a highly sought-after international stage.
According to Ashir Junaid, the team leader for Formula GIK, his 24-member society produced the programme in just two months by sacrificial labour.
“We are proud of making Pakistan famous all over the world,” said Junaid.
