At Expo 2020 Dubai, a portion of the world’s largest Holy Quran was recently shown in the Pakistan Pavilion.
Award-winning Pakistani-Canadian artist Shahid Rassam displayed Surah-e-Rahman cast on a canvas with aluminum and gold-plated lettering for the first time in more than 1,400 years of Islamic history.
Senior officials from Expo 2020, diplomats, and corporate executives attended the historic event to launch the first-of-its-kind project at the world’s largest trade fair, which is being held in Dubai for the first time in the region. Adviser to the Pakistani Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood, Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE Afzaal Mahmood were also attended this Holy moment.
“This largest Holy Quran exhibit will be not only the world’s largest, but also the most unique. From a variety of perspectives, this item is one-of-a-kind and inventive. Its most notable feature is that its words are cast rather than printed in color or ink,” Rassam told the media.
Surah-e-Rahman, he claims, has 1,585 letters, 352 words, 78 verses, and three rukus.
