The iPhone 16 may eventually update its main camera design, which has remained unchanged for several years. Apple is likely to include a vertically stacked dual-camera sensor in the iPhone 16, similar to what Samsung phones have.
Main Camera Configuration
This new main camera configuration has already surfaced in various sources, and we now have a photograph of what appears to be an iPhone 16 chassis.
The revelation was confirmed not only by the X tipster, but also by multiple sources who spoke with MacRumors.
According to these sources, this is the primary camera chassis for the “I-34” camera project, which is intended for the basic iPhone 16 model that will Apple released in September.

The transition to a vertical camera layout may clear the stage for Apple to include Spatial Video recording capabilities on both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.
This functional enhancement is most likely the motivating cause behind the design shift, rather than an unanticipated enthusiasm for Samsung’s design aesthetic.
The iPhone 16 generation, like the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, is likely to include an Action Button that can be customised to do a variety of duties, including a camera shutter button, an alert slider, and more.
However, there may be a dedicated Capture button on the device’s right side, which incorporates force-sensor technology.
The Apple iPhone 16 series, which includes the vanilla iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max, is slated to be released in September of this year.
These phones will also get the upcoming iOS 18 update, which is likely to include generative AI features like the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 8.
