The latest generation of Apple Watches, including the Apple Watch 9 and Watch Ultra 2, are plagued by ghost touch issues, and the company is currently investigating the situation.
Apple Watches with Ghost touch
Ghost touch is a common display bug that detects touches and swipes on a screen even when they are not being made.
An internal company memo obtained by MacRumors confirms the Cupertino behemoth’s awareness of the problem and ongoing investigation.
Apple Authorised Service Providers
This memo was sent to Apple Authorised Service Providers. Because Apple has acknowledged the problem and is investigating it, it is most likely a widespread issue. However, it is worth noting that there aren’t many ghost touch reports for the Apple Watch online.
Furthermore, similar incidents have been reported in the past, but keep in mind that not everyone who encounters these issues reports them online.
Watch Ultra 2
According to an Apple memo, “Some customers may report their Apple Watch Series 9 or Apple Watch Ultra 2 is experiencing false touches on their display.” This would imply that the problem is not currently affecting older models of the Apple Watch.
According to the memo, these ghost touches can initiate phone calls and obstruct the entry of a passcode into a smartwatch. As a result, if you’ve experienced these issues with your own Apple Watch, you’re not alone.
The cause of the problem is currently unknown, as is the timeline for Apple to implement a solution (assuming it can be resolved via a software update). Additionally, the extent of user reports about the bug is unknown.
