According to Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, attempts are being made to develop an app to track down stolen and lost mobile devices. He said that mobile market groups and the police were working together on the scheme.
On Sunday, the Association of Former Inspectors General of Police (AFIGP) hosted a seminar at the Garden Police Headquarters to discuss technological changes in the police. According to the IGP, the Sindh police recently implemented a “point me app” to increase police officers’ attendance. He said that an app has also streamlined the procedure for getting a driver’s license.
Furthermore, it is now simple to distinguish between law-abiding residents and criminals thanks to the recent release of Talash app devices. According to the former IG of Sindh, Syed Kaleem Imam, police work today would be impossible without contemporary technology.
The IG Sindh stated that Sindh Police was taking steps to segregate the investigation process totally and to give officers and staff members working in the investigation department up-to-date, high-quality training. A committee has also been established, according to him, to offer official recommendations in this respect.
He said that the Sindh Police was enhancing its technological capabilities to assure crime prevention so that criminal elements—whether they are terrorists, street criminals, vehicle thieves, or fugitives from the law—are unable to elude the police.
