The Sindh police have announced the release of the Talaash app, which would help the police—especially the investigation department—catch offenders responsible for terrible crimes and fugitives.
Ghulam Nabi Memon, the head of the Sindh police, attended the event at the Central Police Office (CPO). Project director PDIT DIG IT Capt (Retd) Pervez Ahmed Chandio, technical team lead Tabassum Abbasi, and other authorities were also present.
DIG Chandio opened the media briefing by stating that Talaash app is fantastic software for the Sindh police and that it was created with field requirements in mind to help swiftly and effectively discover information from enormous data banks.
The user will sign in using a legitimate username and password that can only be verified biometrically by the user.
Suspect verification, biometric-based crime record verification, HRMIS, Nadra verification, and Nadra 1:N are among the options the user will discover on the dashboard.
They can check the records of the police officers who are questioned by the checking or patrolling staff at various sites throughout the province using the HRMIS option.
Nadra 1:N is useful for promptly examining any dead body discovered, and with this app, the official can immediately verify the details of the retrieved dead body using biometrics.
The app also includes a digital copy of the FIR, a list of wanted offenders, a list of blacklisted vehicles, vehicle verification data from excise, and subscriber information for cellular networks.
The Crime Record Office (CRO), hotel eye guest searches, driving license verification, tenant and employee verification, historical CRO data, and data of cases in court are all included in Talaash’s enormous data bank.
According to IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon, terrorists have turned into a global scourge, hence we must really make all individual and group efforts to eradicate it in order to save the lives and property of our people.
In response to a question, he stated that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had approved funds for the purchase of top-notch technology, with the goal of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of all police operations.
