Shoppers spent $7.2 billion on the first day of Prime Day 2024. This is an 11.2% increase from last year. On the second day, sales grew 10.4%, reaching $7 billion. Amazon did not share its own numbers. But Amazon said the sales were record-breaking.
Doug Herrington, CEO of Worldwide Amazon Stores, praised the event. “Prime Day 2024 was a huge success,” he said. “Thanks to millions of Prime members. And thanks to our employees, delivery partners, and sellers.”
Adobe’s report showed more people shopped on phones this year. Phone shopping went up by 18%. Phones made up 49.3% of all orders. Amazon’s Rufus AI assistant helped many customers.
