After yearly maintenance work at the gas field, a news channel reported on that a supply drop of 107 mmcfd would have the greatest impact on Karachi residents from August 12 to August 27. Karachi’s home, commercial, industrial and Kapco power facilities would be impacted by the yearly maintenance work at the Kunnar-Pasakhi Deep (KPD) gas field from 12 to 27, reducing gas supplies by 107 mmcfd.
Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) has announced that the Kunnar-Pasakhi Deep (KPD) gas field will undergo three stages of maintenance over the course of 16 days.
According to an SSGC representative, the company would be closed for business for a total of eight days and partially closed for another four. The gas supply will be cut by 107 mmcfd during a full shutdown and by 50 mmcfd during a partial shutdown.
The gas supply is less
The digging for Karachi’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project a few days ago damaged a supply line for the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
The gas supply to nearby areas, including Memon Foundation Hospital, Sadi Town, Karachi University, Rimjhim, Rizvia Society, Down University, Suparco, Sachal Goth, and other nearby villages, was cut off after an 8’dia gas supply line was damaged during digging for the BRT, as reported by the SSGC.
