Asus launched the Zenfone series in 2014, and it has since seen a steady stream of launches.
Culminating in a total of 80 devices. However, there are signs that this chapter may be coming to an end.
Asus Zenfone series in 2014
Asus appears to be retiring the Zenfone line, according to a recent report from Taiwanese media outlet TechNews.
According to sources acquainted with the issue described in the paper, Asus is now engaged in an internal reorganisation initiative.
According to the source, Asus has decided to end its Zenfone division, with intentions to reallocate staff to the ROG Phone division. This division is in charge of Asus’ famed gaming phone series.
Unfortunately, this restructuring procedure will result in a reduction in personnel numbers within the PC departments situated in Taiwan and China.
Despite original plans to transfer some personnel to the Zenfone and ROG Phone teams, it appears that these plans will not be carried out.
As of this writing, Asus had not issued an official remark on the subject.
The Asus Zenfone 10
The Asus Zenfone 10 is the final phone in this series. It is a little phone that is highly pocketable and has top-of-the-line specs.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and sports a 5.92-inch AMOLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate that is only available in certain games to save battery life. Despite its small size, it has an 8K capable 50MP camera and a 4,300 mAh battery.
