To share the benefits of falling oil prices on the global market, the government has announced a decrease in the price of petroleum products.
High-speed diesel price has reduced by Rs. 12.13 per litre, while the cost of gasoline has decreased by Rs. 12.63 per litre.
Ishaq Dar, the finance minister, spoke to the media in Islamabad on Friday and announced price reductions for gasoline, high-speed diesel, kerosene oil, and light diesel oil of 12.63, 12.13, 10.19, and 10.78 rupees, respectively.
After the decrease, the new per-liter prices for gasoline and high-speed diesel will be 224.80 and 235.30 rupees, respectively.
Additionally, the Minister announced a one-month delay for filing income tax returns. According to him, the extension was granted in response to the appeals of the business community, and income tax experts, and taking into account the current post-flood situation. The new tax filing date is the 31st of the following month.
According to Ishaq Dar, the government met its income collection goals for the first quarter of the current fiscal year. He claimed that the FBR exceeded its objective by 1609 billion rupees, collecting 1635 billion rupees in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. He said that the FBR collected 685 billion rupees this month.
