Punjab education authorities have issued a stern warning ahead of annual exams. Sharing question papers on social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, or X is now a criminal offence. Students and the public have been reminded that such acts are punishable under the Punjab University and Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Malpractices Act, 1950.
Authorities have made it clear that posting, forwarding, or attempting to transmit exam content digitally, during or after exams, can lead to serious legal consequences. This includes imprisonment of up to three years and fines up to Rs. 50,000. The boards have emphasised that these rules apply to both objective and subjective papers.
Zero-Tolerance Policy in Examination Halls
Mobile phone use inside exam centres is strictly prohibited. Taking photos, recording videos, or sharing exam content digitally constitutes deliberate interference with the examination process. Examination staff, district administrations, and law enforcement have been tasked with monitoring compliance to prevent malpractice.
Public Awareness and Responsibility
Students, parents, and invigilators are urged to avoid any illegal activities related to exams. Authorities stress that violations will be met with immediate legal action without exception. Awareness campaigns and strict monitoring aim to maintain the integrity of examinations across Punjab.
