Mercantile Gives MacBook Buyers a 2-Year Warranty in Pakistan

A MacBook 2-year warranty in Pakistan is now a reality for the first time. Mercantile, Apple’s only authorized distributor in the country, has quietly raised the bar for after-sales care by giving MacBook buyers double the warranty cover that has been the standard until now. For years, every Apple reseller in Pakistan offered just one year. That just changed.

What Mercantile’s MacBook 2-Year Warranty Actually Covers

The new cover works in two layers. The first year is Apple’s own Limited Warranty, which protects against manufacturing defects and hardware faults. The second year is Mercantile’s Extended Warranty, added on top at no extra cost during the campaign period. Together, they deliver a full 24 months of protection from the date of purchase.

This is the same level of cover that MacBook buyers in many other markets take for granted, but it has never been available through Pakistan’s official Apple channel before. The shift matters because Apple does not operate a direct retail store in Pakistan, so authorized resellers like Mercantile are the only route to genuine, protected purchases.

The Back to School Campaign and Student Pricing

The 2-year warranty comes as part of Mercantile’s first-ever Back to School campaign in Pakistan. The campaign runs from 28 July 2026 to 31 December 2026 and targets students heading into the new academic year. Alongside the extended cover, the campaign brings down the price of the 13-inch MacBook Neo with 256GB storage to PKR 229,999, reduced from its earlier price of PKR 265,000.

Students who buy a MacBook Neo during the campaign also get a flat 10% discount on eligible Mercantile Care services and genuine Apple accessories, including AirPods 4, Magic Mouse, and Magic Keyboard. This discount can be used more than once during the campaign window at Mercantile Care service centers in Lahore and Islamabad.

To buy, visit any Mercantile reseller nationwide. The warranty and student discount are redeemed through Mercantile Care service centers after purchase.

Why This MacBook 2-Year Warranty Matters Beyond the Discount

The price cut gets the headlines, but the MacBook 2-year warranty in Pakistan is the bigger structural story. Here is why.

Pakistan’s consumer electronics market has long struggled with a gray market problem. Imported MacBooks without PTA approval or any local warranty are sold widely at lower prices. When something goes wrong after a few months, buyers are left with no support. Mercantile’s move to extend coverage to two years makes the official channel significantly more attractive, not just on price but on long-term value.

It also pushes other authorized resellers to raise their own standards. When the market leader sets a new floor, others typically follow. That is good news for Pakistani buyers across the board.

For students and freelancers in particular, a MacBook is a serious investment. At PKR 229,999 or above, it is not a purchase most people can repeat quickly if hardware fails in month 14. Two years of official coverage closes that risk window in a meaningful way.

Who Is Mercantile and Why Does It Have This Authority?

Mercantile is Apple’s authorized distributor in Pakistan, which gives it a different role from other resellers. As distributor, it supplies Apple products to a network of authorized reseller stores across the country and also operates Mercantile Care, the official Apple-authorized service infrastructure in Pakistan. This is the reason it can offer an extended warranty layer that individual resellers cannot: it controls the service network that backs the promise.

Since Pakistan has no Apple Store, Mercantile Care is effectively the closest thing to official Apple service support that local buyers can access. Knowing that warranty claims go through this same channel, rather than an unofficial repair shop, is a real assurance for buyers.

You can check Mercantile’s official reseller network and product listings at mercantile.com.pk. Apple’s global warranty terms are explained on the Apple Limited Warranty page.

What the Gray Market Cannot Offer

It is worth being clear about what buyers lose when they go outside the official channel. Devices bought from unofficial importers are not covered by any local warranty. Even if a seller promises their own cover, it is not backed by Apple’s service infrastructure. PTA-unapproved devices can also face network registration issues.

The MacBook 2-year warranty Pakistan offer applies only to purchases made through Mercantile’s authorized reseller network during the campaign period. It does not apply to gray market or previously purchased devices.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the 2-year warranty on MacBooks in Pakistan work?

It combines Apple’s standard 1-year Limited Warranty with one additional year of Mercantile’s own Extended Warranty. You get 24 months of hardware protection from your purchase date, serviced through Mercantile Care centers.

Does the 2-year warranty apply to all MacBook models?

The campaign covers MacBook Neo and MacBook Air models purchased through Mercantile’s authorized reseller network during the Back to School campaign, which runs until 31 December 2026. Check with your reseller to confirm the specific model you are buying is included.

Where can I claim a warranty for my MacBook in Pakistan?

Warranty claims are handled at Mercantile Care service centers, currently operating in Lahore and Islamabad. These are Apple-authorized service centers, meaning repairs use genuine Apple parts and certified technicians.

Is this offer only for students?

The Back to School pricing and the 10% accessories discount are targeted at students. However, the 2-year warranty coverage applies to all MacBook purchases made during the campaign period, not just students. Any buyer who purchases through an authorized Mercantile reseller between 28 July and 31 December 2026 gets the extended cover.
