Gold prices in Pakistan faced a huge drop on Tuesday, following the same decline seen in the global market. The local rate of gold per tola fell sharply by Rs. 14,000, reaching Rs. 416,362. This sudden fall shocked both traders and buyers who had been watching the prices rise steadily for months before this unexpected decline in the precious metal’s value.
10-Gram Gold Rate Also Falls Sharply
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 10-gram gold also took a major hit, dropping by Rs. 12,003 to settle at Rs. 356,963. The decline has created concern among gold investors and jewelers, as they now expect further adjustments in prices if the international trend continues throughout the week.
Gold Prices Had Dropped Earlier on Monday
The fall in gold prices did not start suddenly on Tuesday. On Monday, the rate per tola had already gone down by Rs. 3,300, closing at Rs. 430,362. This two-day downward trend shows that gold prices are now reacting to a global correction phase. Many experts believe that such changes are temporary and often linked to fluctuations in international demand.

Global Market Also Reports Heavy Decline
In the international market, gold prices saw a massive drop as well. The rate fell by $140, standing at $3,940 per ounce with a $20 premium. The decline mirrored the same weakness seen in Pakistan’s local market. Silver prices also followed the trend, dropping by Rs. 173 per tola to Rs. 4,924, showing that the entire precious metals market was under pressure.
Global Prices Recover Slightly After Initial Fall
Later on Tuesday, international gold prices regained some ground, rising above the $4,000 mark per ounce. The recovery came after the U.S. dollar weakened and hopes grew for more Federal Reserve rate cuts. These factors balanced the pressure caused by easing U.S.-China trade tensions. Spot gold rose by 0.7% to $4,009.39 per ounce by early morning trade.
