The Atto 3 EV has recently been introduced in Colombia by the Chinese carmaker BYD as part of its globalisation strategy. In China’s domestic market, the electric crossover is offered under the name Yuan Plus.
After making recent stops in Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Nepal, and Mongolia, the Atto 3 has now arrived in Colombia. It will soon also be available in India and Japan. The Atto 3 has already been made available in Uruguay, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic in Latin America.
The joint launch was place during a celebration for the publication’s 10th anniversary, Hola Colombia, which was attended by Colombia’s leading celebrities and fashion figures. At the launch, the BYD Atto3 made a grand entrance dressed in roses carefully selected by the top fashion designers.
The Atto 3 EV, which is based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, has a 150 kW motor that generates a mind-boggling 310Nm of torque and propels the vehicle to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds. There are two battery pack variants with a 50.1 kWh and 60.5 kWh capacity, offering a maximum driving range of 430 km and 510 km, respectively.
The Atto 3 was on show at the 2022 Paris Motor Show among a variety of other electric vehicles from BYD. The Atto 3 is available for 38,000 euros in Europe.
