The Dubai Police Department has stated that seven sites across the city will host cannon firings to herald the conclusion of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr celebrations.
A cannon shot was fired every day at sunset during Ramadan as a signal for fasting individuals to end their fast and as a tourism attraction for the city.
At the start of Eid, seven separate cannons will be fired in the city of Dubai. The locations of where the cannons will be stationed have been announced by the police department.
Location: Al Barsha, Muallah Al Mankhool, Nad Al Sheba, Nadd Al Hamar, Baraha Hatta, and Grand Zaabeel Mosque
The security protocol on Eid has been annnounced
The firing of these cannons will herald the beginning of the holiday season and is sure to be an impressive sight for locals and visitors alike.
All necessary measures have been taken by the Dubai Police, in conjunction with other authorities, to guarantee a peaceful and orderly celebration of Eid Al-Fitr.
According to the government news agency of Dubai, the police force there has released a detailed plan to secure all mosques and huge prayer grounds, to increase police presence on roads, and to beef up security in key locations such as tourist destinations, retail malls, and outdoor markets.
There will be an additional 465 security patrols on top of the existing 66 traffic sergeants and 798 private security officers.
In addition to the 165 lifeguards, 14 maritime security boats, 123 ambulances, 738 paramedics, 10 rescue boats, 29 bicycle patrols, 75 civil defence vehicles, 24 small cranes, and 17 land rescue patrols will all be present on Dubai’s beaches.
