Xiaomi is planning to release more gaming phones in the global market soon after the Poco F4 GT. The Black Shark 5 series was made official in China two months ago, and it will now be available on the global market as soon as June 8th.
The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will first be available in Malaysia before expanding to other markets. The announcement was confirmed by Black Shark Malaysia, and the launch event will be live-streamed on TikTok and Facebook.
The global variant is expected to have the same specifications as the Chinese versions. The Snapdragon 870 will power the Black Shark 5, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will power the Pro model.
Both phones will have 1080p 144Hz AMOLED panels, HDR10+ support, 1o bit colours, and other features.
The Black Shark 5 will have a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra wide shooter, and a 5MP tele macro lens, whereas the Black Shark 5 Pro will have a 108MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra wide shooter, and the same 5MP tele macro lens.
Both phones will have the same battery specifications, including a 4650 mAh power cell with support for 120W fast charging.
Pricing for the global models will be slightly different, but we can expect the two models to cost between $400 and $600.
