Another day, another murder, another woman, another violence, the same ending: death. We are living in a country where a patriarchal system is the norm. We do not consider women as a human. We are listening to and reporting daily domestic violence and honour killing news. The same happened in Muzzaffargarh with a woman.
In Kot Sultan village Korywali, Layyah, a woman, Parveen, was physically abused and tortured until she died. It is all caused because of a little delay in preparing food.
Praveen went unconscious and then shifted to the nearby hospital, where she died. Reportedly, murdered Parveen’s murderers are her husband, Muhammad Yusuf, and his brothers, Muhammad Ejaz and Muhammad Yunis and Nadir. They all beat her up so severely with pipes and clubs.
The club is a wood. It is a stick with deadly sharp forks sticking out. They beat her with the clubs so severely that she could not survive the wounds.
She was transferred from the local hospital to the central district hospital and then to Nishtar Hospital in Multan, where she died because of her severe injuries.
Suspects will be arrested soon. Majeed, a complainant, informed the police about the postmortem examination. Layyah District Police Officer Asadur Rehman is very cheerful towards the murderers getting punished. Women must have equal rights, and this behaviour must be addressed very strictly.
