Currently, WhatsApp lets you star messages so that you can come back to them later. These, however, may only be accessed through chat options and are only available to the person who saves them in a chat.
Like competing instant messaging platforms Discord, Telegram, and others, WhatsApp is developing the capability to pin messages in a discussion.
The function was found by WABetaInfo in the most recent Android beta version of WhatsApp (2.23.3.17).
WhatsApp pinned messages
With pin messages, you can save important topics for later just like with starred messages. You can navigate back to the conversation’s opening message by tapping on a message that has been pin. However, pinned messages are visible to everyone in the chat unlike starred messages.
The app will prompt you to download WhatsApp’s most current version if you don’t already have it in order to enable pinned messages.
This feature is now available in beta, thus it will soon be included in the stable version.
WhatsApp plans to make calls faster and easy with a recent update. Similar to chat shortcuts, the app will soon let you add call shortcuts on the home screen of your phone, enabling you to make calls without opening the app.
By navigating the call settings in your WhatsApp contacts, you can make a call shortcut. You can add call shortcuts for certain contacts in WhatsApp.
Additionally, one of the most recent beta releases of WhatsApp for Android has this capability, suggesting that it would soon be widely accessible.
In December 2022, WhatsApp will remove even more accounts, says a recently exposed safety study. Over 3.6 million “bad” accounts were reportedly banned from WhatsApp during the month.
It was discovered that these accounts were against WhatsApp’s policies. According to Meta, they took the initiative to deactivate these accounts from their systems before receiving any user reports. This shows that the company took the initiative to do so.
