Numerous users are reporting problems with the app’s text-sending and receiving capabilities, which suggests that WhatsApp may be experiencing a bug.
The number of people reporting the outage of WhatsApp has sharply increased, according to Downdetector, a company that measures online outages throughout the world.
Around 30,000 internet reports according to Downdetector indicate a significant increase. Users are dissatisfied because their messages are not getting through.
The app does not indicate delivery status even when the messages are delivered.
The majority of major cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Gujranwala, appear to be the hotspots on the Downdetector live outage map.
Regarding WhatsApp disruptions, Meta has commented. A representative for the Meta firm said, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”
Even application’s calling functionality is being criticized by users. The ‘calling’ part of the app does not go to the ‘ringing’ step.
Similar outages affected WhatsApp in June of the same year. Users of WhatsApp are also reporting the outage on Twitter.
This may rank among the worst instances for the instant messaging service given the variety of disruptions.
