WhatsApp started food shopping in some regions last year, but it is now introducing a full-fledged online shopping experience through a new tool called Flows.
WhatsApp with more in-app Features
Flows allows you to shop online without leaving your WhatsApp chat, and you can even buy train tickets, food, and other stuff.
This enables WhatsApp Business accounts to provide menus and forms that you can quickly navigate to make a transaction.
WhatsApp is preparing to deploy Flows for businesses through its Business Platform in the next weeks, with a focus on India at first.
WhatsApp & its Business Platform
Users in India will be able to add things to their cart and pay using various methods such as UPI, debit cards, and credit cards. WhatsApp has partnered with Razorpay and PayU to assure the security of these transactions.
A new verification function called “Meta Verified” is also being developed. Businesses that can demonstrate their legitimacy are awarded a trust badge.
Verified businesses will benefit from features such as a customisable WhatsApp web page and multi-device compatibility.
WhatsApp and Online Purchasing
It is crucial to note, however, that this feature is still in testing and is not yet available on the Business Platform.
It is also uncertain whether it will ever come to Pakistan, although it would undoubtedly be a huge improvement for WhatsApp and online purchasing in general, given that everyone here uses the instant messenger.
