Meta is adding an AI assistant to its platform suite, which includes Facebook, Messenger, and WhatsApp. Notably, this AI chatbot is currently being widely deployed on WhatsApp.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been causing havoc in a variety of Android and other operating system applications.
Microsoft’s Copilot has found a home on Windows, while Google’s Bard chatbot and Search Labs initiatives are capturing the attention of testers.
Meta Intentions For AI Chatbots Introduction
Meta disclosed its ambitions to explore the domain of AI chatbots for its extensively utilized services in September of this year.
At the time, the implementation was very similar to the models provided by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard.
Llama 2, a significant language model, was critical in fostering smooth and lifelike discussions.
Furthermore, a collaboration with Microsoft Bing enabled the AI to efficiently search the web for answers to user queries.
Because of the AI’s versatility, users could ask any question they wanted or experiment with platform-specific features like AI-generated visual effects for Instagram photos.
WhatsApp AI Chatbot Testers
During this phase, however, only a small group of testers had access to these cutting-edge AI tools.
Meta appears to have fine-tuned its AI offerings after several months of beta testing.
WABetaInfo recently discovered a new AI-powered WhatsApp chat shortcut, indicating a wider rollout.
At least within the beta channel—a positive development that suggests eventual availability in the stable channel.
However, the new shortcut for starting a chat with AI appears as a floating action button (FAB) in the Chats tab of WhatsApp, just above the new message FAB.
This launch shortcut’s distinctive design—a multicolor circle within a pale gray button—significantly simplifies access to Meta’s AI in WhatsApp.
This is a change from where it was previously located within the Contacts section.
Making the feature more visible to users, particularly those who are discovering it for the first time.
AI Chatbot WhatsApp Beta Version 2.23.24.26 Compatibility
According to WABetaInfo, this AI-powered feature is currently compatible with WhatsApp beta version 2.23.24.26.
Some testers have reported seeing it even on the older version 2.23.24.23.
The latter’s availability on the Play Store raises hopes that the AI chatbot on WhatsApp is getting closer to a stable channel release.
Users can look forward to a future in which AI seamlessly integrates into their digital interactions, making tasks more efficient and enjoyable.
