Ufone Advance Balance Gets You Up to Rs60 but the 30% Fee Adds Up

The Ufone advance balance service, officially called UAdvance, lets prepaid subscribers borrow emergency credit of Rs20 to Rs60 in seconds by dialing *456#, no internet, no shop visit, no waiting. You get instant balance whenever you are running low, simply by dialing *456# from your prepaid number to get a loan. What most users overlook, though, is the fee structure and the eligibility conditions that can silently block your request at the worst possible moment.

How the Ufone Advance Balance Code Works

Ufone calls this service UAdvance, it is basically an emergency lifeline for calls, SMS, data, and more. For prepaid users, all you need to do is dial *456#. The system quickly checks your eligibility, looking at your recharge habits and how well you paid back previous advances.

Customers can get a loan in five different ways, choosing an amount of Rs20, Rs30, Rs40, Rs50, or Rs60. Once you dial the code, a menu appears on screen. Pick the amount you need, confirm, and you will receive the advance balance within seconds.

The service works 24/7 across Pakistan. You do not need internet access to use it, which makes it helpful for users in remote areas.

The 30% Service Fee, What It Actually Costs You

Here is the part that catches many users off guard. The tariff of the service is 30% (inclusive of tax) of the UAdvance option chosen, and it is charged at the time of balance recharge. So if you borrow Rs60, you will repay Rs60 plus Rs18 in service charges, a total of Rs78, when you next top up.

The total amount payable by the customer is the service fee plus tax together with the amount of airtime provided. The customer is liable to pay this total value, and when the customer recharges, the total value must be paid.

For smaller amounts the numbers look like this: borrowing Rs20 means your next recharge is reduced by Rs26 (Rs20 loan plus Rs6 fee at 30%). The loan is not cancelled if you do not recharge immediately, it simply waits until your next top-up, at which point Ufone deducts the 30% service charge automatically from your next recharge along with the loan amount, with no upfront payment required before the loan is credited.

Eligibility Rules You Must Know Before You Dial

Not every Ufone user qualifies every time. The Ufone loan code works only when your balance is below a specific limit, usually less than Rs11.95 in your account. The system checks your eligibility automatically.

Beyond the balance threshold, there are other conditions. Common reasons for a failed request include: your balance is still above Rs11.95, your SIM is not PTA verified, you have an unpaid existing advance, your SIM has not been recharged in the last 30 days, or your SIM is too new.

A customer is allowed to have only one advance at a time and may use the service again once their outstanding balance has been repaid. This is a key rule, if you borrowed last week and have not recharged yet, the system will refuse a second loan until you clear the first one.

It is also worth noting that this service is available only for Ufone prepaid mobile customers and is not available for Ufone postpaid customers.

What You Can Use the Advance Balance For

The emergency credit is not limited to just phone calls. Subscribers can use their advances for all services, including calls (on and off net), SMS (on and off net), data, international calls, roaming, and VAS subscriptions. This makes UAdvance more useful than many users realise, you can activate a data bundle or send an SMS even on a borrowed balance.

How to Check Your Remaining Advance Balance

If you get a balance from Ufone by dialing *456#, you can check the remaining amount by dialing *124#. You will receive an SMS showing your current balance, including how much of the advance you have already used. This is handy if you want to track spending before your next recharge arrives.

If you want to switch to a postpaid plan while you still have an unpaid advance, note that customers that have not yet repaid the total outstanding UAdvance balance and who wish to migrate to a postpaid package will be required to first settle their outstanding advance balance.

What to Do When the Code Does Not Work

If *456# returns an error or nothing happens, run through this quick checklist before assuming the service is down:

  • Check your balance first. If it is above Rs11.95, you do not qualify yet.
  • Confirm your SIM is PTA-biometric verified. Using only the SIM provided through biometric verification by PTA is a requirement.
  • Check for an unpaid existing loan. You cannot stack two advances.
  • Restart your phone and try again after a minute. Sometimes it may be a network issue; restarting your mobile and trying again resolves it.
  • Call Ufone support at 333 if none of the above helps. You can get in touch with a customer representative by calling 333 and the representative will explain the terms to you.

Also keep in mind that by 2026, Ufone made some changes (like the online recharge minimum being Rs100), but the loan code system still works smoothly. Just make sure your SIM is PTA verified, and you have recharged sometime in the last 30 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ufone advance balance code?

The code is *456#. Dial it from your Ufone prepaid number, choose a loan amount from the menu, and the balance is credited to your account within seconds. No internet connection is needed.

How much can I borrow with UAdvance?

Customers can get a loan in five different amounts: Rs20, Rs30, Rs40, Rs50, and Rs60. The exact amount you are offered may depend on your recharge history and usage pattern. Most first-time users start at the Rs20 tier.

How much does the Ufone advance balance service charge?

The service fee is 30% (inclusive of tax) of whichever UAdvance option you choose, and it is charged at the time you recharge your balance. So a Rs20 loan costs you Rs6 in fees, while a Rs60 loan costs Rs18 in fees.

Can I get a second advance before repaying the first one?

No. A customer is allowed to have only one advance at a time and may use the service again only once their outstanding balance has been repaid. Repayment happens automatically when you top up your account.
