UAE’s Airports 24 Hours Passport Renewal Announcement
According to the Digital Government, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs at the airports in Abu Dhabi and Dubai offers a 24-hour passport renewal service there.
If a citizen’s passport has expired, been lost, or is somehow destroyed while they are out of the country, they must get in touch with the UAE embassy or consulate to get a replacement.
The new passport’s validity is limited to five years, according to the Digital Government, so its owner must apply for a new one and provide three documents,
- The original family book or a copy of it
- The original ID or a copy of it and
- A recent personal photo, with the requirement to turn in the previous passport.
Residents in Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates with additional questions about Emirati passports should phone the General Departments of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in the relevant emirate or call the ICP call centre at 600522222.
They can call the Amer service in Dubai at the number 8005111 with questions on passport services in Dubai.
