Several countries have implemented the Job Seeker visa in response to labour shortages created by the pandemic and other factors.
This visa allows foreigners to enter the country, look for work, and labour for a set period of time. They must, however, obtain a work permit in order to remain in the nation after finding work.
Following nations provide Job Seeker visas:
- Emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
As its job market expands, the UAE is attracting skilled workers from all over the globe. To help those looking for work, the UAE provides a job seeker visa that is good for 60, 90, or 120 days with a single entry.
Applicants must, however, have a bachelor’s degree, demonstrate financial stability, be classified according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization’s skill levels, and possess a legal passport.
To apply, go to your home country’s UAE embassy or consulate, register online, submit the necessary papers, pay the fees, and wait for a decision.
2) Germany
Foreign nationals who are not citizens of the European Union (EU) can file for a job seeker visa in Germany.
Applicants must have at least five years of professional experience, adequate financial resources to support their stay in Germany, and evidence of finished vocational or academic education to qualify for this visa.
Qualifications recognised in Germany or comparable to a diploma obtained in the country are also required.
The recommended first step is to contact the German embassy in your home nation or the nearest German consular.
3) Austria
Austria has made job seeker visas available to highly qualified third-country residents.
The programme provides a six-month residence visa, but applicants must earn at least 70 points on a set of criteria.
If they receive a job offer during the validity period of their visa, they can apply to the appropriate residence authority in Austria for a Red-White-Red card. This card allows people to live and work in Austria for an extended length of time.
4) Portugal
Portugal provides a job seeker visa, which enables the holder to enter and stay in the country for up to 120 days in order to look for employment.
The visa is valid for 60 days and allows for only one entrance into Portugal. If an applicant gets work during the validity time, he or she may apply for a residence permit.
Applicants must meet the general requirements for a temporary residence permit and show evidence of financial resources equivalent to at least three times the minimum monthly wage.
If a job seeker in Portugal is unable to locate work before their visa expires, they must leave the country.
They can reapply for the passport after a year. They can also present a signed statement of responsibility from a Portuguese citizen or a qualified foreign citizen with a document of residence in Portugal instead of evidence of financial resources.
This statement should ensure that the job applicant has sufficient funds for food, housing, and removal expenses if they are in Portugal illegally.
5) Sweden
A person with a high level of education can acquire a residence permit in Sweden to pursue employment or to start a business.
The permit is valid for three to nine months, and family members are not permitted to join the job seeker during his or her stay.
If a person already has a residence permit for higher education and has finished their studies, they should apply for a new permit.
To apply for a job-seeking permit, you must have an advanced degree, intentions to look for work or start a business, be financially self-sufficient, have valid health insurance, and have a passport that is valid for the duration of your stay. Furthermore, the candidate must be outside of Sweden at the time of application.
