The Pakistani government is making all the required preparations for Eid Milad-un-Nabi, as is to be anticipated. In advance of the Islamic holiday on Sunday, mobile networks in Karachi have started falling unavailable in a few different areas of the city.
This was confirmed by a representative of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), who made it clear that mobile services were shut down on the government’s instructions on the 11th and 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal in various areas of Karachi.
Gulistan-e-Johar, Defense, Saddar, Nazimabad, and other places are among the impacted localities. We anticipate that more regions and cities may eventually be impacted as the holiday draws near.
Islamabad currently has mobile service available, at least in some areas of the city, although we don’t think it will stay long. If the government doesn’t also shut down internet access, this will force people to temporarily rely on Wi-Fi and other connectivity providers.
The government declared that all of its administratively controlled offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous entities, companies, and local councils will be closed on this day.
However, crucial offices and services involved in the COVID-19 emergency will continue to operate.
Pakistan witnessed the moon for the holy month of Rabi ul Awal on September 27.
