Alameda Analysis is a cryptocurrency brokerage and liquidity provider founded by crypto billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF).
SBF spent three years as a dealer on the quantitative proprietary buying and selling big Jane Avenue Capital, which focuses on fairness and bonds, prior to founding his agency in 2017.
SBF founded the crypto derivatives and exchange FTX in 2019, which has quickly grown to become the fifth-largest by open curiosity. In January 2022, the Bahamas-based change raised $400 million and was valued at $32 billion.
FTX’s international derivatives trading enterprise is distinct from FTX US, another entity managed by SBF that raised an additional $400 million from buyers including the Ontario Lecturers Pension and SoftBank.
The self-made billionaire has lofty ambitions, such as acquiring financial behemoths such as Goldman Sachs, and he has previously stated that he intends to do so in July 2021. “M&A [mergers and acquisitions] goes to be the most definitely use of the funds,”.
On June 18, cryptocurrency brokerage Voyager Digital announced that Alameda Analysis had agreed to provide the company with a $200 million USD Coin (USDC) mortgage and a “revolving line of credit score” of 15,000 Bitcoin (BTC) valued at $319.5 million at current prices.
During a June 19 interview with NPR, SBF acknowledged that Alameda Analysis and FTX “have a duty to noticeably contemplate stepping in, even whether it is at a loss to ourselves, to stem contagion.”
