When the Pakistan national cricket team arrived in Sri Lanka for their two-match Test series, a member of the support crew tested positive.
Details indicate that Malang Ali, the sports therapist for the national team, tested positive for the disease during the initial round of testing as soon as the players arrived in Sri Lanka.
Malang is currently quarantined in an isolation unit pending the outcome of his Covid-19 test.
After a day of relaxation, the Men in Green will start practicing on Friday. They landed in Colombo on Wednesday night.
To prepare for the Test series, the national squad will play a three-day exhibition game in Colombo from July 11–13.
The first Test between the two teams will take place in Galle from July 16–20, and the second match will take place in Colombo from July 24–28.
In order to finish in the desired top two slots in the World Test Championship, both teams will be driven to perform well and score as many points as possible.
Sri Lanka is now ranked sixth in the points table, while Pakistan is currently third.
In order to reach the final at Lord’s the following year, the Green Shirts still have three series left in the 2021–2023 WTC cycle—one away at Sri Lanka and two at home against England and New Zealand.
