The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN)-led Punjab administration, which is in power and preparing for provincial by-elections, is doing all in its power to win over voters who are suffering from unprecedented inflation.
Hamza Shehbaz, the chief minister of Punjab, declared during a news conference earlier today in Lahore that he would give free energy to everyone who consumed less than 100 units of it between the months of January and June of this year.
According to CM Punjab, the province administration has determined that up to 9 million families used fewer than 100 units over the aforementioned time. According to CM, with an average of 6 family members, over 54 million people, or almost 50% of the province’s population, would now receive free power.
The provincial administration is also seriously thinking about converting these homes to solar electricity, he added. The change will lessen the strain on the provincial exchequer and assist these families in producing their own power.
According to Punjab’s chief minister, the current provincial administration is fully aware of the challenges residents are facing as a result of growing inflation brought on by record-breaking gasoline costs.
He continued by saying that the current Punjab administration has already implemented a number of initiatives to benefit the populace and that the provincial government is giving residents free medications and grain at a reduced price.
